Hypnosis

WHAT IS HYPNOSIS
It is a natural state.
Hypnosis is a changed state of awareness and increased relaxation that allows for improved focus and concentration. It also is called hypnotherapy. Hypnosis usually is done with the guidance of a health care provider using verbal repetition and mental images. It’s a type of mind-body treatment.
Your ability to tune out daily distractions and be more open to suggestions for making adjustments to improve your health is made possible by the high level of focus and attention you experience when under hypnotize.
Many people believe that being in hypnosis is markedly different from their 'normal' state of consciousness. This may be based on what they have seen of stage hypnotists where someone “acted like a chicken” or entered into a deep trance and “made strange noises”.
However, the light trance/hypnotic state feels very much like the normal state of relaxation. It is just like when you are immersed in a movie or a book and nothing else around you exists, or when you are driving on the highway on autopilot.
It is a deep state of relaxation
In fact, as you become relaxed in hypnosis, you become more aware and your focus and concentration heighten.
It is precisely that relaxation of the body that allows the mind access the subconscious part in which all our memories are stored and where our beliefs reside. In this state, you become more receptive to suggestions and are able to make changes at a subconscious level.
You are in control all time
You are in complete control the entire time. You can stop the session at any time. You can wake up at any time. You cannot be made to do anything you don’t want to do. The practitioner asks you questions and guides the session, but you are an active participant. You determine what comes up in the session.
For example, if I told you to stand up, you would do it. But if I told you to rob a bank, you would not. Well, it’s the same in hypnosis. You are in control. You will only accept the suggestions given to you if you feel it is in your interests to do so or if it is within your ethical framework of personal values.
As a therapist, I’m working with those internal limiting beliefs that are causing you discomfort to transform your life.
There isn't a right way to go under Hypnosis
There is not right or wrong way to experience hypnosis. Don’t expect to “feel” hypnotised, you don’t “go” anywhere magical and you won’t fall unconscious. And if you’re an sceptic, you’re welcome just the same, you don’t have to believe in the method for it to work. Many people don’t even realize they are in hypnosis until they come out of it.
WHAT DOES GOING TO HYPNOSIS FEEL LIKE?
The gentle hypnotic state simply feels like you are relaxed, just like meditation. People can also experience different body sensations, as well as emotions. Some people feel as if they're sinking comfortably into the chair, with their body becoming very heavy and relaxed. Others can feel as though their bodies are becoming light, and they experience a drifting, floating sensation whilst in hypnosis. Everyone is different and if you are having multiple sessions it's possible that each session will likely feel different too.
You are in total control the whole time, and we are talking together for most of the session too. You cannot be made to do anything you don’t want to do, and you cannot be taken into hypnosis against your will. You will remember everything from the session clearly.
WHAT IS NOT HYPNOSIS
You are not asleep or unconscious
Hypnosis is not sleep or unconsciousness. It's a sleep of nervous system - REM sleep. It's a state of focused attention and heightened awareness, similar to deep relaxation or meditation. While in hypnosis, individuals are fully conscious and aware of their surroundings.
The therapist is working with you on healing an issue, they couldn’t do it if you were asleep or unconscious.
It is not something “mystical”
Hypnosis is a real psychological phenomenon. It's been studied extensively and is recognized as a valid therapeutic technique by many medical and psychological organizations.
There is nothing mystical about it, although for some people it can be a spiritual experience. It all depends on your own approach and what you use it for.
It’s not magic
While hypnosis can produce powerful effects, it is not magic. It's a scientifically recognized phenomenon with well-established principles and applications in psychology and therapy.
Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) is a multi-award-winning, contemporary therapeutic intervention drawing upon powerful solution focused techniques. It uses hypnosis as the main tool to access the subconscious mind and find the root cause of a presenting issue which is usually a belief formed during childhood that causes discomfort to a person. In that relaxed state, the therapist uses different therapeutic techniques to reframe the belief behind the issue, solve it, and install more constructive patterns to help the person achieve their desired outcome.
RTT is a form of hypnotherapy and psychotherapy that can effectively assist you in changing limiting beliefs or thoughts, or overcoming any emotional barriers. Science is showing that our subconscious mind is responsible for 95% of our brain’s processing power, and the conscious mind is responsible for only 5% of awareness. RTT works with your subconscious mind to affect change at a deep level, giving you rapid and transformational results.
The decisions we make, the behaviours, reactions or responses we have to any situation or experience or external stimulus are dependent on the beliefs, thoughts or stories we tell ourselves. These beliefs, thoughts and stories are stored in our subconscious mind and were often created when we were just young children
RTT is a powerful healing modality that can address various issues such as anxiety, pain, addiction, depression, phobias, weight loss, and other psychological and physical problems. It can support increasing self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-love, enhancing relationships, and managing stress, anxiety and phobias. It can also assist healing of physical conditions and diseases.
Marisa Peer developed Rapid Transformation Therapy based on decades of experience as a therapist and observation of recurring patterns in human behavior. Her approach combines techniques from hypnotherapy, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), and cognitive-behavioral therapy to quickly access the subconscious and challenge and change deeply ingrained limiting beliefs.
RTT focuses on identifying and addressing the root of emotional and behavioral problems, allowing clients to experience significant transformations in a relatively short period of time.

,,Your thoughts control your feelings, your feelings control your actions and your actions control your events. So if you change your thinking, you change everything“

HOW DOES RTT DIFFER FROM NLP?
Both NLP and RTT help you understand the difference between what your conscious and subconscious mind believes. NLP focuses mainly on changing the language and self-talk of your own mind. This is where the similarities with RTT lies, and both teach how to improve the dialogue with your mind.
The regression technique used in RTT allows you to go deeper and therefore find and release blockages directly, which can help with severe trauma, emotional pain or disconnection. RTT teaches you to understand how you got your problems, and then helps you free yourself from them.
